Another activity MASSON Training to Women SHG members for construction of sanitary latrine. We the people of KGNT initiated for training programme particularly for women, so that they can increase their family income by constructing the latrine by taking support from water and sanitation mission in their locality where the lives. Out of that activity, Tailoring and Dress making, Pisci culture, Goat rearing, Dairy farming, etc. various income generation activities have been initiated. The income generation activities have been implemented with the financial support from the SGSY, MADA and OSFDC and the credit from the Bank.
Thrift and credit programme is the empowerment process, which has economic system, can be control by SHG women members. Micro credit is good focal point, which has reduced dependency on the money lender. It has totally stopped to credit from shaker or Money lender who use to changing high interest which was they exploited. The objectives behind the various linkages, basic need are meets and the people become capable of living without help to others. In this process we took an awareness building for their capabilities and enable them for improving of their health, education and income generation activities uplifting economic status.
KGNT laid major stress on promoting and upgrading livestock husbandry and began implementing a livestock insurance policy. To improve the health of domestic animals and poultry, KGNT has been giving training to women SHG members like rearing of livestock and fish farming with the support of DRDA, Nuapada under SGSY scheme. Fish farming provides attractive income to raise group capital in their respective groups. The group leader which have taken lease water body from the different Gram Panchyats for the Fish farming.
The main objective in this sector is to achieve sustainable increase in the living standards of the target group that is 3600 poor families and improve the income level of such families through skill training and micro credit. Under the project poor women can expect to improve their skills for better utilization of their available resources.
